VITAP MACHINE
Vitap S.p.A. has just released information and a new video on the 2016 Point Acoustic 1200, a new version of the successful CNC machine dedicated to the production of drilled acoustic panels. The sister machine, the Point Grooving, has also been redesigned to accommodate panels up to 1200 mm wide.
Additional improvements include:
- A redesigned machine enclosure to improve dust collection and decrease noise level during operation.
- The possibility of having custom-designed drilling blocks.
- Increased operational speed (sample times from video):
- 2,200 x 8 mm holes in 4 minutes; wood panel size 48” x 31.5”
- 3,381 x 8 mm holes in 3 minutes, 40 seconds; wood panel size 48” x 31.5”
- 10,513 x 2 mm holes in 11 minutes, 30 seconds; aluminum panel size 24” x 24” o 11,737 x 2 mm holes in 6 minutes, 30 seconds; wood panel size 20” x 16”
- 17,560 x 9 mm through-feed holes drilled in 20 minutes
- Capable of drilling micro-holes down to 0.7 mm diameter.
- Vastly increased production. One of our customers has experienced a 75% production increase versus the previous manufacturing method (CNC router).
The Vitap Point Acoustic has been entered in the 2016 IWF Challengers Award competition and is now in the semi-final stage.
